The NEPA Specialist will be primarily responsible for the review of NEPA documents to support environmental planning services at seven Marine Corps Installations in the Southwest for consistency with relevant federal laws and regulations (e.g., NEPA, ESA, NHPA, etc.), applicable Navy/Marine Corps instructions and military orders and existing interagency agreements, as well as Regional and Installation policies, strategies and philosophies. This position will also require travel within the U.S. and may include direct management of Marine Corps projects at varies locations. This position will be required to support military process and systems, including but not limited to:



-Process and Automation Management System (PAMS)

-Environmental Impacts Reporting System (EIRS)

-Installation Capability Assessment Support Services System (ICASSS)

-Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

-Learning Management System (LMS)

-Environmental Management Portal (EM Portal)

-Data analysis and database interface, modification, and update in support of maintenance of existing systems and databases

-NEPA planning and compliance execution

-Environmental compliance and awareness training



In addition, the NEPA Specialist will be working five days a week, at the client site, so this individual will be held to the highest standard of professionalism.



Some travel throughout the western U.S.

Keyword(s):

Environmental Planner 2, BS, MS, environmental science, planning, mapping, GIS, research, NEPA. BS degree in Environmental Sciences (or related field), Masters preferred.

5+ years of NEPA experience.

Proficiency with MS Office suite.

Proficiency with GIS software.

Strong environmental writing and communication skills.

Strong conceptual, organizational, problem solving and research abilities.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
